Lynn’s Library

I love this before and after so much, I literally had a dream about it last night. In my dream, I was telling my husband that I needed this room. And he told me that I don’t have enough books to warrant this room. So I told him that’s because I get rid of books after I read them, because I don’t have enough room to keep them, unlike this room!

*deep longing sigh

Check out more from Lynn, whose blog is called The Flabby Brain, although that can’t hardly be true, she has a friggin library in her house!

Kim’s Happy Chair

Here’s one last happy redo to cheer up tax-time.
Kim, aka The Ransacking Renovator, found this abandoned chair in a corner of the house she moved into. It was nice and sturdy, but its appearance was bumming her out. She knew all it needed was a quick paint job and a bright recovering with Amy Butler oilcloth. Amy Butler fabrics = happy, in my book.
Walking into a room and seeing that would certainly brighten my day! Hope it’s brightened yours! Thanks Kim!

Bloomin Bathroom

Continuing onward with some extra cheerful redos for April 15th tax time, here’s a cute redo from someone with the spring-time-iest name I ever heard: Janell Hope Bloom!
Janell and her fiance recently bought their first home and first item of business was to fix up this bathroom. They did a great job, which bodes well for their marriage, I’d say, and so does the fact that they are getting married on my birthday! It has to be a good omen!
Check it out on her blog CandJ.

Happy Tax Time!

In honor (or dis-honor) of good ol‘ April 15 (tax day), I’m posting some extra happy redos today, in case you need a little cheering up! I know I do, I think we’re being audited. Barf.
First up is a great hutch redo from Beckie over at Infarrantly Creative. What makes a worn out hutch look great? Everyone’s best friend: black paint. What makes it look even better? How about some super happy fabric to dress it up and give it some extra oomph? Check out her blog to see some of the creative fixes she came up with to salvage this piece that was headed for the dump.
Love how she covered up the dated parquet with beadboard too. Thanks Beckie!

Breathtaking Bedroom

A-ooO-GA! (That’s the sound of my eyes bugging out of my head.) Isn’t this bedroom redo the most gorgeous thing you’ve seen all day? It makes me want to don a dressing gown, lounge around in that bed and eat crumpets all day.

You simply must check it out at LaurieAnna’s Vintage Home, where there are tons more pictures showing every last detail of this space. My favorite: the found range-hood over the bed!
