Stumped

Happy Monday to you! I hope you had a great weekend. I didn’t have much to do, so I tried to catch up on my email. However, my computer was majorly constipated and every time I clicked on anything, the whole thing would freeze, so I only managed to answer about eight of them over the course of two days. Sigh.
So, I must have been in a wacky mood by the time I got around to this submission from Rebecca. She said “Here is a table that I made from a neighbor’s tree that I chopped down.”
And I laughed and laughed because I was picturing her running through the night, desperate to make a new table, ax in hand, secretly chopping down her neighbor’s tree.
But actually, what she meant was she took a piece of her neighbors tree that was already chopped down and cut it down to make an awesome side table. I’m so impressed! And no crimes were committed! Check the full tutorial on her blog Potholes and Pantyhose.

Recipe for: A Sweet Office Space
Find a forlorn corner, set aside. Take one of each: mismatched chair, desk, lamp and group of shelves. Paint in coordinating shades, with pop of apple green for contrast. Get stuff off of floor of said corner and organized into pretty baskets and boxes. Replace lone picture frame with focal wall of colorful prints. Assemble contents neatly and enjoy!

Adorable Hutch

Would you believe that Laura from Decor to Adore purchased this hutch from Craigslist for a mere $25? Say wha?! Well don’t begrudge her for her good fortune, it was hard earned by patiently,
p a t i e n t l y watching and waiting for something within her price range to show up… and be in acceptable condition.
Certainly paid off, as did the choice to paint it in a soft grey/blue with a brighter blue interior. Love the new beadboard backing too. Thanks Laura!

Room by Rose

I don’t know why wood paneling terrifies me so, but it really does. So, if you live in a house with floor to ceiling wood paneling, do me (and yourself) a favor and grab a can of paint. Nothing is more terrifying than sleeping in a pine box, DO YOU HEAR ME!?!
Ahem. Anyway, here’s a lovely look at what Rose did with her bedroom. It makes me wish I had wood paneling, just so I could paint over it. Total cost for Rose’s room renovation: Under $200! Check it out on her blog HERE.
