I am so pleased to introduce you to your new favorite online store, and Better After’s newest sponsor: Yellow Lovebirds!

This is Carrie, owner of Yellow Lovebirds, isn’t she beautiful?

Clearly the girl has a passion for unique style, which she has turned into an online store brimming with fresh and fun clothes, shoes and accessories that you won’t see everyday.

Carrie says: “Yellow Lovebirds is all about individuality. We know that every woman desires to have a unique style, and we embrace this. We handpick each item to give you pieces meant to jazz up whatever look you are hoping to achieve. Whether it’s taking something old in your closet and pairing it with a fresh find from our store, or discovering a whole new style as you shop with us, Yellow Lovebirds wants you to be creative and in control of your idea of fashion. Our clothing is meant to be as versatile and creative as the woman who wears it.

You will clearly see that all of our products are reasonably priced. Yellow Lovebirds believes that a woman should be able to be fashionable and confident without emptying her bank account. When you visit yellowlovebirds.com, we want you to love your experience every single time, and keep shopping with us for every occasion. Fresh items are added all the time to keep you up to date and in the know.

Yellow Lovebirds is solely an online-based boutique based out of Charleston, SC, but we ship anywhere in the good ole’ US of A.”

You’re Knotty!

Wowzers. Wood overload ya’ll. Wood ceiling, wood floors and fake wood-paneled cabinets. I’m surprised the fridge wasn’t whittled out of wood too. The lime green formica really brings it home though.
The after is so crisp and clean, you can actually appreciate the wood ceiling and wood floor. And I bet no one shed a single tear to see that lime countertop go. Beautiful! Check out more on Diane’s blog Adventure Before Dementia!

Orange You Glad?

Ashley and her husband needed a real TV stand, so when some friends were tossing this old buffet, she jumped into action! Lots of love and paint later, and they have a fun and funky entertainment center to enjoy.
I love the bright colors, especially with the green accessorie. But because I’m a dork, I’d have to say that my favorite thing is that little piece of trim along the bottom that gives it a little more substance and makes it look like it was always meant to be a stand alone.
Check it out on her blog Oh So Lovely. Thanks Ashley!

Y not

Initials and monograms are always popular in decor. So popular in fact, that by the time I get around to finding something cute, the only options left are random letters like Q and X. It’s kind of a bum deal. Make more A’s, monogram people, is that so hard?
But, lucky for you rare Q and X people, your stuff will probably go on clearance. That’s how Tif bought this snazzy Y pillow for $5. She snazzified it even further with fabric flowers to cover the unnecessary letter, and poof! (or should I say pouf!) A sweet custom pillow for cheap.

BefOAR and AFTer!

Michael has my dream job of owning a bed and breakfast in central PA. I actually didn’t know that was my dream job until I saw it on his blog, Inspired by Charm, but gosh dang, doesn’t it sound wonderful?
He had a blank wall to liven up in the “Sunset Room,” so he found these oars on Ebay for about $5 each. He weathered and painted them and weathered them again until they ended up with this perfectly aged finish. Notice how the colors start darker and end in light blue, mimicking a sunset? Lovely! Thanks Michael!
