Yeah, he caught my eye…

I saw it on a Thursday and my heart stood still,

Chachevronronron, chachevronron!

(I should probably clarify that I’m not having a stroke, I’m just inventing my own lyrics to Da Doo Ron Ron, by the Crystals).

But my heart really did stand still when I spied those fine looking chevrons from Ann Marie at Twice Lovely. I just had to burst into chevron-inspired song! Love this.

Cookie Cut

What I love most about Nikki’s kitchen makeover is that it really shows how much you can customize a builder-basic tract home. We both live in Arizona, the state that invented cookie-cutter homes. Our state color is beige. Our state flag doesn’t exist because the HOA ruled against flags. Our state motto is “Mi Casa es Su Casa (because we can’t tell whose is whose).”

But Nikki really managed to break out of the same-ol’ same-ol’ mold, not just with her kitchen, but her entire home. Every last detail looks custom-made. The whole shamdangle is simply fantastic, and it inspires the heck out of me! There’s a lot more to see on her blog Grand Design, do check it out!

That’s Shady

Pretty sure I had this exact same lamp at some point during college, when I decorated my apartment with anything anyone would give me. Not the ugliest lamp we’ve ever seen. But it sure ain’t the cutest. Plus it has a weird leathery shade. Well not anymore cowboy!

Erin from The Impatient Gardener brightened it up with a coat of yellow and a hip little lampshade that she made herself! I’m so impressed! Great job Erin! Check out her blog for the lampshade tutorial.

Sweet as Honey

I don’t think I will ever stop being surprised by the total pieces of crap that people manage to turn into something beautiful. Like this table here. I would have maybe considered that good enough to be a work table in the garage or something, but nothing more! Good heaven’s, nothing more!

I’m like the crusty old school marm who told Albert Einstien he would never amount to anything. Because check out what Sacha from Once Upon a Time coaxed out of it:

Ahhhh-mazing!

Super Stencil

Tiffany’s staircase was pretty nice, but it was lacking in overall awesomeness. No one was going to do a double take when they walked in. But that was then. She needs to get herself a cushy new welcome mat, because jaws are going to be dropping all up on her floor now!

All it took was just a bold coat of color, some bright white accessories, and hours and hours and hours and hours of tediously hand-stenciling the design on the wall! See more on her blog Landee See, Landee Do.

Tricky Tyrell

Look at the picture below… do you think a kitchen makeover is coming your way? Ha! You thought wrong folio!

Unless, that is, you already anticipated that I was going to try and trick you, thus you predicted that instead of a kitchen makeover, perhaps it was going to be a kitchen stool makeover, in that case, you thought WRONG AGAIN homie!

It’s a kitchen stool repurposing which is totally different than a makeover. See, Tyrell turned one of the stools into an end table! Then she removed the tops of two other stools, attached some scrapbook paper and made cute little wall decor hangy things, which is the official term for it, so there. Check it out on her bloggity A Touch of Tyrell!
