I really hope that you didn’t recently redo your tween daughter’s bedroom in sage and light pink. Because you are going to want to Edit and Undo all that once you see this fabulously funky bedroom makeover from Laura. She convinced her daughter to let her paint the room white so they could have more freedom with colorful accents. Perfect. How much do I love that great fabric treatment behind the bed? Like, a lot.

You Otto Know

You might be surprised to learn that the marriage of this outdated coffee table (helpfully photoshopped by Jennie when she forgot to take a before pic before painting!) and this Cinderella play sofa produced something so extremely stylish. And thrifty! Not only did Jennie not want to pay upwards of $500 for a large upholstered ottoman, she didn’t want to pay for the foam to make one either. That stuff is criminally pricey. It would have cost her over $100 to buy all the foam she needed for this project, the sofa was $10! Geeeeeenius!

Have you seen all the cute little kid-kitchens made from nightstands and small dressers lately and thought to yourself “Hey, I want to do that too! Only bigger! Much bigger! On a level that will make my friends cry with jealousy! So outrageous that people will talk about my awesome kid-kitchen for years to come! I will be a LEGEND!”

Uber-cool

Kata from the Hungarian blog Little House supplies us with more proof that Europeans are just plain cooler than us Americans. I have never found anything quite as unique as this Thonet sofa in all my years of thrifting! Le sigh.

It was in sorry shape, but Kata fixed the frame, added extra padding, and did it up in style with bold red stripes. I wonder why it only has one arm? Must be an ultra-cool Euro thing.

Good Times Never Seem so Good

Oh Suzi Q. Oh Suzi Q! I love your redo, oh yes I do! Poor Suzi. I bet people sing that song to her all the time. Sorry Suz! I guess I lucked out, since no one has written a popular song with my name in it. (That I know of?) Although, I wouldn’t object to being named Caroline since I love the song Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and might have a secret crush him, but that’s a story for another day.

Amanda had fallen out of love with her chandelier. It had faithfully hung around for seven years, but the thrill had faded. Her tastes had changed. But Amanda’s no quitter!
