The End of the Stone Age

Before Sara Jane had stepped foot in this home, her realtor warned her about “THE WALL.”  This clunky abomination had apparently already scared off several potential buyers, but it finally met its match with Sara Jane. She wasn’t scared of its space-eating size and awkward height; she knew it could be a sleek and modern space.  Good thing she bought the house and not me, because I probably would have thrown a sheet over it and pretended it wasn’t there. “Oh that?  That’s our resident house ghost.  Pay no mind.”

When the original plan to mount the TV to the wall became cost-prohibitive, she switched to plan B and attached it to the ceiling, running cords through the attic.  I like it even better that way!  See more details on the blog Honey I’m Home.

Such a great way to hide the rocks & also to hang the TV….it makes a statement, actually! I think it looks better than when it’s coming out from the wall.

The After looks great and is really sleek, but I do love the stone wall. My hubby and I both love the stone look so it’s a good thing we found each other. 😉

Sad to see the stonework go. A big piece of reclaimed lumber for a mantle would have just MADE that fireplace…and my neck hurts just thinking about watching the TV way up there like that. Perhaps it lowers electrically?
