Hello gang!
I haven’t forgotten that I have a blog, I promise. My computer is having a life crisis and I’ve been unable to do anything other than swear at it. Currently blogging from my phone.
Also my dishwasher is broken, my vacuum is broken, the ice maker in my freezer is broken (whyyyyyyy), my car’s check engine light is on, my terrorist toddler has lost the keys to the mailbox AND the garage door opener, and all of this is giving me a case of adult acne.
What I’m saying is now is probably a good time for a break. So please enjoy your holidays! I will do the same, and we’ll meet up here again soon!
PS: if you see Santa, tell him I need a new Mac. Or if he knows where the garage door opener is, that would be fine too.

December 23, 2016 at 9:03 AMTaking a break is definitely the right thing to do. Take care of yourself and have a wonderful Christmas! We’ll be here when you get back.

December 23, 2016 at 9:09 AMYes, take a deep breath and take care of yourself. The story of Christmas 2016 will be funny……when the terrorist toddler is 50!!! You can embarrass him with his family.
Merry Christmas, and we will all be here when you return!

December 23, 2016 at 11:25 AMSo sorry to hear that, although it does sound like the holidays in a nutshell! As a weird side note about the computer, I am totally a Mac person, but lately it seems like they last 2-3 years and they start having major problems. I’m getting tempted to switch to a PC!

December 23, 2016 at 5:03 PMDoesn’t help that AZ has decided to turn into a freezer. Every winter I say I prefer the heat. Freezing my butt off here for sure.
Hope things get better. I feel for you with a toddler. That expression terrible twos applied to my boys from when they started walking til kindergarten. Now they are both grown men with families of their own. Thanks for the memories you bring back.

December 29, 2016 at 1:57 PMFor the missing keys and garage door opener: check all your floor vents. My own toddlers (all four, in their respective times) loved tucking treasures away in there. Hope things settle down for you soon!

January 8, 2017 at 4:01 AMOh no! Missing your blog! When I was two (my mother loves this story) my parent locked a substantial amount of cash in a dresser the day before buying a car. I hid the keys in my honey sandwich which was promptly thrown out when I claimed I didn’t want to eat it….

January 12, 2017 at 8:15 AMDitto what Erin and Kimberly said! I thought I’d get my “fix” by reading your archives, but the side bar is not showing up (the header is missing, too). I tried in a couple different browsers, but no go. Am I the only one? How do I fix this?

Loudly.. “BREAK’S OVER! BACK TO WORK!”
We need you LindsEy! You complete us. Help us, help you.
I was thinking today how that we have been friends for quite a while now…years actually. “Friends” being that you have a blog and I read it whenever you post. We’ve communicated via email. I got to be part of the inaugural mystery thrift-off. (BY FAR, THE BEST MYSTERY THRIFT-OFF I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE TO PARTAKE IN!) I sent you lyrics to “Beyolnd Thunderdome.” You sent me a post card…hangs on my refrigerator. (People ask, “Who do you know in Arizona?” I respond, “Oh. My good friend, Lindsey. Spelled with an ‘e.’ We go way back. She drew a dinosaur on it!”) <–Sorry if others didn't get a cool drawing on their postcard…what can I say? Lindsey and I are "friends."
So, as your "friend" …break's over. 🙂
Seriously, hope things are improving. Take care. Best wishes. Happy New Year and stuff.

January 17, 2017 at 10:13 PMI’m getting a wee bit worried that the toddler has “accidentally” locked all of you in the garage and occasionally throws you some cheese nips and dill pickles to keep you going. I do hope you are enjoying your break–everyone needs down time and I’ve never understood how you manage to do all you do without a lot of screaming. Take lots of deep breaths, constantly remind yourself that the little one will eventually go away (FAR away) to college and know that your readers will be here when you’re ready to start blogging again. LOVE your blog but please take care of yourself first.

January 17, 2017 at 11:06 PMLindsay, I’ve never commented before, but your site has been at the top of my bookmark list for years. I can’t count the times you’ve made me laugh out loud. You’ve shown me great design and inspired projects of my own. At the risk of sounding very sappy, I miss you and I hope everything’s OK with you.

February 4, 2017 at 4:43 PMHi Lindsey
How can I possibly start the renovation of a tiny coastal holiday cottage in the Eastern Algarve, Portugal, without you? You have helped in the extension and modernisation of our home in England, plus the decoration of our holiday apartment and I need your humour and inspiration again, NOW.
I do hope all is well with you and yours
