Long ago, when I was a young young child in Sunday school, we used to sing a song called “The Primary Colors.”
Our Primary colors are one, two, three–
Red, yellow, and blue.
Each one has a message for you and me.
Each is a symbol true!
Red is for courage to do what is right,
Yellow for service from morning till night.
Blue is for truth in our thought and our deed.
We will be happy when this is our creed.
I’ll be darned if I don’t sing that song every single time I see anything red, yellow, and blue, yep even dressers.
These are all so great, but I think the blue one is my favorite. That detail on the sides, plus the keyholes and the fun new knobs, ahhh. Picture me kissing all my fingertips then opening them into the air, while saying “Perfecto!” (That would make way more sense if you saw me do it in real life rather than just typing it out but anyway. That gesture needs a name).

December 8, 2015 at 8:20 AMWhen I was a wee lass, my family sang it as “Red, Yellow, and Blue – and Green” (each has a symbol true – and keen).
Green was for getting to Church on time.

December 8, 2015 at 8:22 AMI’m older than you. Blue used be: Blue is for purity in God and deed. Ask your mom about that one!
Love you girl! You are my daily morning ritual!

December 8, 2015 at 11:37 AMI must be Barbara’s age; that’s the way I remember the song, too.
I love the blue dresser, too. As much as I love real wood, I think paint looks nice on furniture with interesting carving – really highlights the detail. Anyway, I can’t really take issue with any project that paints over blond wood. (Shudder!) As much as I love the blue, the butter yellow is just drawing me in. I’ve always loved that shade.

January 9, 2016 at 8:13 PMThe blue dresser after is pretty, but so is the original, and it looks as though it’s 150+ years old in nice original condition, with original knobs. Many like this are handmade. I’m not a purist, but there are so many cute dressers to redo that aren’t bona fide antiques.
