Pickle Your Fancy?

In case you are tired of seeing white kitchen makeovers, which are always nice, but indeed plentiful to be found, here is something a little different. A Dill Pickle kitchen makeover.

Yessir, that is the name of the paint color that Michelle used to repaint the cabinets in her adobe home in Tucson, and they turned out fantastically!

She also knocked down a wall, rearranged a few appliances and repainted the adobe range hood, which was “painted a greasy, shiny metallic copper.”  It’s so much better in white! Note to the former owners: you can’t use copper paint on something as textured as adobe and manage to fool anyone.

Michelle also kept the original floors and bumped up color even more with Mexican tile on the counters and backsplash.  So fun! It’s a fiesta for my eyes!

My favorite part is the new counter and backsplash! It is so nice to see color and pattern — I know that granite is all the rage, cut I love love love the look of beautiful and vibrant tilework. I don’t think I would ever tire of walking into my kitchen and seeing all that cheerfulness!

Right on! I love the whitewash on the giant copper pickle 🙂 Those tiles are great and the fiesta going on in there must make her smile.

If only this had been around a good ten years ago – could have had some ammo to convince my parents to keep the green cabinets of the house we moved into! xD

I’m sorry, but I just can not get over the horror of the “before”….. wow. That is the kitchen equivalent of the ugly lamp champion!!

Is anyone else glad they kept the floors? I love those tiles, they look great with the new green on the cabinets!

So thrilled to see my kitchen up in here! I was hoping for a Lindsey pun for the title and was not disappointed. Thanks a zillion!

I thought the old range hood color made it look like a giant drumstick floating on the wall, love the white.

Great choices of color and texture! Wonderful!
Also inspiring as we’re looking at removing a cook-top and installing, or rather inserting, a full stove as she did here. It’s got us (mostly my husband) all worried about the lower cabinets but see how perfect it looks?! I’m totally making him look at this re-do. Thanks!
