This bathroom had a bad case of the blahs, and also featured one of my most OCD pet peeves of all time. Can you spot it? It’s the tile floor. Do you see in the picture on the right how every tile is exactly the same? When you install tiles like that, you are supposed to rotate them, so that the pattern doesn’t repeat itself. There isn’t supposed to be a pattern! It looks much more natural when they are rotated. It makes me want to punch myself in the eyeballs whenever I see it, but I admit I do have some issues.
It’s the difference between this:
But anyway. Sabrina solved that problem with a beautiful new marble floor and scene stealing wall treatment. Simple yet stunning.
Everything else got a coat of paint, including the tub and shower tiles. I love the vanity update, it looks like a minty gray which doesn’t sound like a real color, but according to Pinterest, it is.
Also digging the floating frame around the mirror. See more details from the talented Sabrina at Pink Little Notebook!

October 21, 2014 at 3:35 PMYou are so right about rotating the tiles! But it would have been even worse when only 1 tile was different from the rest… Nightmare!
Love the makeover!

October 22, 2014 at 3:20 PMBy the way, my OCD wants the tiles to go the same way. The rotated tiles are making me nervous.

October 31, 2014 at 9:43 AMQuestion, do you think a bath long and thin like this does better with the square tile? I need to do my bath over which looks to be similar size and am in love with the longer tile.

October 31, 2014 at 11:46 AMI think long tile in a narrow space would look great! More visual impact than just a couple square tiles. Like this: http://www.houzz.com/photos/187595/Hayes-Valley-Remodel-contemporary-bathroom-san-francisco
