Lime Bright

Whenever I get submissions from a foreigner, I get excited, because that is kind of rare, and they always seem to approach homes and decor with a totally different mindset than I’m used to.  Laundry room in the kitchen?  Ain’t no thang.

Whenever I get a submission from a male, I get excited, because that is also rare.

Whenever I get a submission from a foreign male who is not afraid of mega bright colors, well then. It’s party time.

And Javier’s bathroom is certainly a party! Which is a good thing, because it previously looked like an ’80s funeral home.  But now it’s all clean lines and sleek touches, and miles of lime green tile, and yes, a laundry room.  America really needs to get up to speed with the laundry-room-in-other-rooms idea already. So sensical! (Apparently spellcheck is telling me that ‘sensical’ is not a word, but nonsensical is.  Pssh. How unsensical).

I’m so totally on board with the laundry room in other rooms idea! We even did that in our new home: the main floor powder room shares its space with the laundry room. Personally, I HATE laundry, and I don’t see why I would want to dedicate an entire room to my least favorite chore.

The only other laundry room combos that I love more than my current set up is the Laundry/Craft Room and Laundry Master Closet (assuming no other people need to use the laundry room). What’s your favorite laundry room combo?

Our laundry room is in the garage, which seems inconvenient, but the dryer doesn’t heat up the house, clothes hung up to dry take no time, and it was nbd when our washer leaked.

Americans are spoiled with so much space in our homes. I like Javier’s make over, although the lime green tile would take some getting used to!

Now that is a happy place to get things done! Laundry or bathing, what a cheerful space. Love the floors, too!

This is a most EXCELLENT After! First of all, I LOVE the lime on the walls and tub surround! And at first I thought that the tub had been re-done but now I realize that it’s the same grey that it was originally–but that’s okay! And secondly, what a perfect place to have the laundry–in the room where you remove the majority of what you have to wash anyway! Genius! And the appliances look happier and more function-friendly (to provide a folding surface). Great job, Javier!

Laundry in the bathroom seems brilliant. How many wasted trips precariously wrapped in a towel could I have avoided bringing dirty jammies and towels across the house to the laundry room? Also, the fact that he could make that tub look awesome instead of most definitely not awesome is truly impressive.

WOW!!! That is a great bathroom makeover. Everything is placed & organized for convenience. The wood floors and the lime color are perfect. And….he’s pretty darn cute, too. 😉
