Do you like planking? You should, it’s like, the best exercise ever for your core . So they tell me. Planking is also an awesome endeavor for adding punch and pizzazz to any drab wall in your home! And it’s not hard. Melissa planked it up hardcore in her bedroom, simply by cutting sheets of plywood into 5″ wide strips in random lengths, staining them a complementary assortment of colors and finish-nailing them straight to the wall.
Strengthen your core! Beef up your wall! Planking can do anything. See more from Melissa at Cornbread and Beans Quilting.

July 23, 2014 at 1:20 PMThis turned out great! After dealing with a recently completed built-in cabinet project involving lots of plywood cutting, I can only begin to sympathize how long it took to make that fabulous wall, but woah was it worth it. Wow!

July 23, 2014 at 2:38 PMI LOVE that she added blue to the wall! What a refreshing and unexpected change! I love a good brown plank wall when it’s done well, but adding the blue just takes it over the top. Well done!

July 23, 2014 at 4:53 PMFor once in my life, I was speechless. Kind of like when I saw the Rocky Mountains in person for the first time. That is stunning. Does she make house calls?

July 23, 2014 at 6:13 PMMuch better than a plain wall, that’s for sure. Comfy. I’m thinking you could also get a similar effect with mismatched or leftover flooring pieces like Pergo or Marmoleum (which comes in colors).
