If you are looking for a sturdy dresser that is way inexpensive and has surprisingly deep drawers, let me introduce you to the MALM. This Ikea staple is a no-brainer winner all the way around, except for one little thing. It’s super dupes boring. I just yawned looking at this before picture, for reals. Oh snap, I just yawned again.
But Amy at Homey Oh My! had an easy solution for this tragic case of the bores: add brass hardware to give it some campaign style! You can get the MALM in white or black, but I love how she painted the black drawer fronts white, leaving a border of black all around. So schnazzy.

July 9, 2014 at 1:22 PMBig improvement! Another option is overlays. I’ve never tried them, but I saw this product used on TV a couple of times: http://www.myoverlays.com/

July 9, 2014 at 1:25 PMI think I would take the lazy mans way out. Buy two dressers and swap the drawers. I could use two dressers so this would work fine for me. I would have to add the bling to both dressers that’s what make them unique.

July 9, 2014 at 2:48 PMLOOOOVE this! I was contemplating this exact same thing with the MALM but I thought the space between the drawers might kill the look. Now I’m convinced, it’s fab! Looks like I found my next project!
