Ermagersh you guys, I had so much fun reading all your haikus! Thanks so much to everyone who chimed in, it was so fun! And it was so hard to pick a winner. I wish we could all go to the Target snackbar for a round of Icees, on me. Here are just a few of my favorites:
Colleen:
a zig and a zag
all those lines make me dizzy
chevy in the hiz (zy)!
Cara:
Showcase ups and downs
A wall, a chair, a table
Metaphor of life
Bethany:
is chevronified
in the dictionary yet?
it should be, i say.
Heidi:
If I win today
I will spend it at “Tarjay”
Hello Merona
Haha Heidi, that last line made me literally LOL, with a snort and everything.
But the grand prize in our haiku contest goes to … Bets!
First this way, then that
Chevron should use MapQuest app
for shortest distance.
Yay Bets! I will be contacting you asap about your prize.
And I must give an honorable mention to Karl, who instead of a haiku, shared his musings on the chevron trend in an epic pseudo-villanelle. He wins an imaginary soft pretzel from the Target snackbar in addition to his imaginary Icee.
Next time limericks?
And now, what you really came here for, a Monday morning makeover! This one comes from Cristina at Remodelando la Casa and it’s better than superb. It went from starter-home kitchen to starring-in-a-magazine kitchen. Once again, the secret is raising the cabinets all the way to the ceiling. Nothing makes a small kitchen seem bigger, faster.
And those lights above the island are my everything.
I also need to announce the ShoeMint giveaway winner! Congrats Chinda Phraph! I will be contacting you asap!

But I lost to a haiku
Epic ups and downs
I’m going to get myself a non-imaginary Margarita instead… a more appropriate Icee I think.

March 31, 2014 at 6:50 PMIt is so cool to see my poem up there! Thank you! Also this “before” kitchen looks a lot like my current kitchen and I really like the improvements, especially that light fixture.

April 2, 2014 at 6:10 PMMaking you laugh snort is waaay better than a gift card. You better strap on some Depends when I enter the limerick contest.
