Earlier today I shared a little Christmas project I made: gold glitter silhouette deer art. It’s like the catchiest name of a project ever, I know. If you enjoyed that, then keep reading! If not, well, keep reading anyway! Because I am inviting you over to my house to take a look at a little more of my Christmas decor just for funs.
I’m so glad you could drop by. (Pretend I just took your coat and offered you a steaming mug of hot cocoa. Aren’t I such a nice virtual host?) C’mon in!
Why don’t you have a seat in the living room by the roaring fire?
(Just keep pretending. I have never actually figured out how to turn on this fireplace).
(I have also not figured out if it’s better to try and take glowy Christmasy pictures during the day or night. Bear with me).
No mantel in this rental, shucks. I improvised with garland, and like it so much better compared to the beige square it normally is, I just might keep it up year round.
Just a simple gold/silver/white color scheme ’round here, with plenty of glitter.
I love, love these little faux trees from IKEA, and have a couple scattered about. I highly recommend getting yourself a few, they’re so versatile.
I had a strand of half-burned out lights, so I just piled them in this basket, and I think it looks quite lovely. I also hung strands of lights behind my curtains, which I would also like to keep year round, so cozy!
Now, pull up a chair and join me at the table!
I made these plates last year with my Silhouette and some gold vinyl. And yes, I keep it like that all month long! My family just shoves it all aside to use the table, but mainly uses the kitchen island anyway.
I made the runner with some faux bois fabric I found at JoAnns. It fits the ‘woodsy/glam’ theme that I wasn’t really aiming for, but with pinecones and disco balls sharing space, kind of happened.
The wreath was a $7 thrift store find, and the nutcracker was a little makeover project inspired by my friend Rebecca at The Crafted Sparrow. I just painted over that old picture and filled in a nutcracker silhouette with silver paint.
So glad you could visit! Thanks so much for stopping in friends!
Have a very, very merry Christmas!

December 20, 2013 at 3:11 PMIt’s so pretty! How do you take the glowy pictures? Is it the white light strings that come out so beautifully? I tried taking a picture of my colorful strung tree and it looked like a neon explosion… Not what I was going for.
I had to do a doubletake when you said you didn’t have a mantle, btw. I was like, yes you do! It’s right the— oh. That’s a shelf. How it fooled me! I didn’t even notice it was like half a mantle going on. Lol.
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

December 20, 2013 at 3:38 PMThanks so much Rose! The picture taking was just A LOT of trial and error. I’m still learning. I have about 5,000 terrible pics that I need to go delete off my memory card!

December 20, 2013 at 4:42 PMWoman, I ain’t coming all the virtual way to US of virtual A to have a bloody cocoa and sit by a bloody roaring fire! It’s 40c here and I aim to have me a cool chardonnay with my feet in a tub of ice water. Got it? Yay, well, good! Now about that deco stuff you got goin’ on, well, hey, don’t that look bloody bonza! (no one says bonza here anymore. I gotta use it more often!)

December 20, 2013 at 4:56 PMSo be honest how long did it take you to panic clean to make the pictures pristine before the kids came home to wreck the halls with jolly? Jk
It is indeed a lovely home and thanks for the tour, you did a truly impeccable job! I love the warmth and coziness it invokes. Just ignore the Better After Readers that have sleeping bags.

December 20, 2013 at 8:16 PMHa! My kids are actually pretty good about not touching stuff. Probably because I drill it into them from an early age the difference between toys vs. MOMMY’S DECORATIONS. We still haven’t mastered things like using napkins and when it’s appropriate to go without pants (less often than they think), but that’s one thing I’ve managed ingrain in their brains. But yes, I’m a total panic cleaner. 🙂

December 20, 2013 at 8:00 PMPrettyyyyyyy! I would have never even noticed that you don’t have a mantle on your fireplace. With the garland and collage of frames and letters, it’s definitely a statement in the room! And I freaking LOVE the basket ‘o’ lights. Genius. And finally? That last picture of your tree is so gorgeous and dreamy. I just wanna stare at it for awhile… let me know when I’ve worn out my welcome and I’ll leave. 🙂

I ca-racked up about the family pushing aside the plates…oh yeah, welcome to my world! But it looks pretty…all that matters! LOL Seriously, I bet your family appreciates the warm and cozy feeling you have created!

January 18, 2014 at 9:44 PMHere’s the deal. I am seriously NEVER on a computer anymore. I do evrything on my phone, which is great, but it sucks because I never see blogs anymore. So, on this rare occassion that I’m actually sitting home perusing blogs on the computer, I of course MUST come to yours, ’cause it’s my fave. I’m so far behind, it’s embarassing. Anywho….love, love, LOVE your gorgeous Living room Christmas. Your tree is to die for. No really, to.die.for! Everything is fabulous, and beautiful and warm and wonderful. There is a whole lot of white going on in furniture and flooring, which frankly would stress me the heck out, but if you can keep that clean, then you are a rock star!! Anyway, thanks for sharing the pics. LOVED them!
