I have a passive/aggressive hobby. I love walking through model homes. But … I also get depressed walking through model homes. Something about touring a pristine, professionally decorated home on an unlimited budget really makes coming home to reality a big fat bummer. But it’s also so fun! I love seeing new ideas and dreaming!
And I love Chelsey’s new bathroom. It could easily pass for a model home bathroom. Everything about it screams “upgrade!” From the tilework to the fixtures, right down to the fancy new handle on the toilet. I’m inspired! And mildly depressed. Great job Chelsey! See more on her blog Things To Be Stroud Of.

May 8, 2013 at 1:28 AMThis is much better than a model home, because it’s actually livable. So much of the decor in model homes is impractical for real life. I toured a show house one time, and they had kitchen curtains that “puddled” onto the countertop. Bad idea. In a real home, those curtains would be absorbing everything that spilled onto the counter, as well as every fluid used to clean the counter. It put me off puddled curtains entirely. Even in other rooms, I’d be afraid they’d get stuck in the vacuum.
But anyway, this powder room looks beautiful and livable. The only thing I wonder about is the flowers on the back of the toilet. I’d be afraid of knocking them off the toilet lid. I guess you could use a little museum putty…

May 8, 2013 at 3:58 AMWow! This is my first time on your blog, and I’m absolutely loving this. One of my biggest pet peeves is “dark” bathrooms, the “before” isn’t way dark, but man the “after” is so bright, clean and calming to look at. The fresh flowers are a nice touch, too.

May 8, 2013 at 10:39 AMLove the make over, but they probably should have painted the ceiling where the smoke stain from the candle darkened it.

May 8, 2013 at 10:47 PMThanks for featuring our bathroom makeover!! I am loving our new look. With a baby in one arm and a paint brush in another I feel like it “almost” done…are we ever really done?! No! The smoke stain actually only shows in a picture, one day…maybe we will get to that too!

May 9, 2013 at 2:32 PMWow, is it weird how the after in the commode area looks bigger? Really nicely done.
