Take a sad song (or room) … and make it better

Did you watch the closing ceremonies of the Olympics last night?  It was pretty cool, but I admit, 99% of the reason I tuned in was to see the Spice Girls.  Zig-a-zig-ahh!  I don’t care what you say about Posh, aka Frowny McScowls, she’ll always be my favorite. There were quite a few tributes to The Beatles too, which was also cool, because I happened to do a Beatle-themed post over on Cake Wrecks yesterday!  Check it out HERE if you fancy, mate.
In other news, I have received many horrifically ugly lamp submissions, thank you so much! I am currently trying to sort through them, and suffering bouts of terrified weeping in the process.  The Ugly Lamp Contest will begin next week!  Mark your calendars.
And in yet other news, I hope your mousepad isn’t flammable, because you are going to be putting some friction on that thing when you see this kitchen makeover from Kate at Kate’s Creative Space.  There was lots of scroll-up-scroll-down-scroll-up-scroll-down happening when I first saw it. I still can’t believe it’s the same room.

Just getting rid of the pink and country blue helped tremendously. 😉 Love the final product, though. This is exactly the kitchen I dream of.

Unbelievable – that can’t be the same room! I definitely had to look for some of the details like where the doorways and windows were placed. It looks amazing!

This shows why people should definitely not freak out at cosmetic things like paint and window treatments and wallpaper! All those things can be changed — voila! Beautifully done!

Ick! Pink carpet!! Those people did a great job. I wish I could pull a room together so succinctly! Lol

    What an awesome transformation! Unbelievable!
PS. I think Posh has had some plastic surgery that makes her have a permanent frown :(. I’m actually surprised she could sing.

I always scroll down slowly so I don’t see any of the ‘after’ picture. Then I think about what I would ‘do’ with the room/item… (mind goes blank about here)

Then I look at the after and think, “Oh My GoodNESS… that is Soooo: AWESOME!”

I’m so not an interior designer.
