Mood Music

Is it a crime to paint a piano?  Yes, but only if you happen to choose the color Poopy Sunset like whoever owned this piano before Danielle did.  Seriously, there’s like three different shades of brown happening there.  So weird.
Danielle lightened the mood with a bright white and toned it down with a dark glaze, and now they are making beautiful music together!  Check it out on her blog Danielle’s Spot.

I am really impressed about the change in the piano. You did a great job with the antiquing.

I always wonder what my piano would look like in a different color and then I remember that I’d have to move it to the garage to paint it and I decide it’s not worth it. Love the way hers turned out though.

Maybe it’s just that I’m still in Halloween withdrawal, but does anybody else think of Phantom of the Opera when looking at the redo?? 🙂

    (It’s a great job, really.)

That piano looks like a Harrington -from the carvings – and it would have been better to restore its original finish – Harringtons are worth thousands of dollars!

I would have stripped that down to the original wood as well. Most pianos had beautiful wood in them and look better original rather than painted. But it does look like this was a very nicely done job and certainly eye catching.
