These dramatic changes that Erin made to her home are somehow completely subtle. She took out a dormer, added a portico over the front door, and re-pitched half the roof! That’s dramatic! There was a crane involved! But doesn’t the after seem like it was always meant to look exactly like that? Like the before was just a weird dream? So absolutely charming, I kind of wish she was selling it. To me!
The changes didn’t stop there. Check out the back view, and take a moment to sigh in wonder at her lush landscaping. They don’t call her The Impatient Gardener for nothing!

September 21, 2011 at 7:33 PMThanks so much for all the nice comments and thank you SO MUCH Lindsey for featuring it. We’re absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. A lot of people (including the bank) thought we were nuts that we were going to spend a lot of money and not gain a single square foot of space, but what we did was make the most of the square footage. By raising the roof, we were able to add a full bathroom, a walk-in closet and gain valuable useable space in the bedrooms (which were hampered by low Cape Cod-roof syndrome.
I really do feel like this is what the house was supposed to look like all along.
