Lyre, Lyre

It’s only fitting that a harp-backed chair should have a musically-themed makeover, yes?  Jessy from Where the Wild Things Grow thought so, so she paid $3 for this chair, added a clef note and now this chair really sings!  Ok, that was corny, I’m tired today.  This chair was an extra special find for Jessy, who used to be an Alpha Chi Omega, and one of their symbols is a lyre!  I was never in a sorority, if I had a symbol that represented my college years, it would probably be a pizza box.

    Love the chair!

If I had a symbol that represented my college years, it would probably be a Del Taco mild sauce packet.

LOVE the chair redo! However, I gotta kindly correct your description of “clef note”. The seat actually has a musical staff with a treble clef on it. No notes…maybe that’s for the next chair redo 🙂 (Hey what can I say, I majored in music and after a lifetime of doing that, went to design school…LOL!)

I’m creating a music themed bench and came across this in my research. It is beautiful, inspiring. Now, it has me wondering… did you paint this on the fabric or use ribbon? Iron on? Permanent marker? I just can’t decide….

I’m just an ELA teacher, not a crafter. I have this vision and need to create a bench I can’t get out of my head… which has in turn shown me that I need help/advice.

I hope to hear back from you!

    Thank you

I’m new to Pinterest… Please excuse my stupidity. I followed the link (Wild Things Grow) and found my answers.
Thanks for pinning it and your time.
