This kitchen had not been updated since … ever. My dear grandma has pretty much the same exact kitchen, except in lime green. I call it the Kitchen Time Forgot. Literally. You can open her freezer and find meat from the 70’s, that is no joke.
Chyanne’s parents were probably more up-to-date than that on their meat storage, but the kitchen was not. After years of putting their children through school, it was high time that they did something for themselves, and a kitchen redo was in order!
I’d love to show this to Grandma and inspire her, but since she about passes out when you try to clean out her freezer, I can’t imagine what would happen if we got her a stove with more than one working burner.
See more loveliness on Chyanne’s blog, Yuppie Lady.

January 20, 2011 at 4:34 PMThat is wonderful. I love the arch over the sink, and the tiles. I would just sit in there and gaze at the walls in bliss.
But there is something kinda fun about a kitchen that retro, isn’t there? Until you’ve got to cook with only one burner, I suppose lol
