Monday Morning, Clara’s Bookshelf

Good morning! I hope you had a great weekend! And I wanted to say thank you all so much for your sweet and encouraging comments about me and my daughter. She is feeling better, I think. Yesterday she only screamed for like, half the day, so hey, improvement! I hope she is just breaking in some molars like some of you suggested, and not planning on being like this forever. But thanks for the support! My mom even called me on the phone to say how nice the comments were!
Anyhoodle, check out this bookcase by Clara. It began as a “super-cheap flat-packed wood shavings and paper pieces of furniture that start coming apart as soon as you finish assembling them.” She was just about to throw it out when she decided to see if she could revitalize it. Sho’nuff, she did, and it looks great!
I like the added legs and of course the fabric modge-podged to the top for an extra touch of sha-jazz! (I don’t think that is really a word). See more on her blog The Home in Paradise.

I love this! It’s amazing how some people have the creativity to do something simple like add legs, and it totally transforms something. Very impressive!

Oh, I just found out your little one was feeling awful. Poor thing! Glad she’s doing better now.

    And poor mom, too.

The new, improved bookcase is really cute. A good coat of white paint can make just about anything look great.

I have a bookshelf almost exactly like this from my grandfather. To think, I was going to get rid of it in favor of the expedit collection from Ikea! Now, I’ll just repurpose it in my craft room. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yay! Great transformation. That looks like a happy little bookscase now.
