Grandma Hattie’s Piano

I think this is the sweetest before and after story to ever grace Better After. This old piano was very loved for many years, handed down from mother to daughter, played upon by children and grandchildren. Then one tragic day the house flooded. The piano was destroyed.
Hoping there was some chance it could be saved, the piano was delivered to Whitey. She and her husband tore it apart (as lovingly as possible, I’m sure) and used the parts to create a trunk for her mother and two lamps for her aunt. Read more about it on her blog, Skunk Hollow.

That is sweet and impressive to think to make a trunk and lamp post out of it!

I’ve seen Whitey’s re-do in person and it’s even more spectacular when you can examine all the details up close. A great project!
