Teddy Bear Shelf

Sarah from Thrifty Decor Chick is always up to something creative. She has that knack of seeing the potential in things that most people wouldn’t look twice at. Well, I’d probably look twice at this one, but only to make fun of it. The teddy bears, ugh!
But she managed to look beyond its initial appearance and turned it into something I would put in my home, rather than in my fireplace.
She sprayed it black, added new hooks and replaced the “adorable” bears with chalkboard paint. Easy!

File Cabinet Planter

This is an ingenious idea. Chad from BaldManModPad found a file cabinet on Craigslist for $10, turned it on its side and created this cheerful planter. He was inspired after seeing its pricier twin sister ($600!) at a local nursery. This is one of my favorite projects because anyone could easily do it and in so many fun colors too!

Welcome to Better After!

This site is inspired by you!
It started as an idea file, a collection of all the projects and makeovers that I adore. I’m constantly amazed at how a little spray paint and love can transform even the freakiest of thrift store treasures.
Maybe it’s my ADHD acting up, but I’ve found that I seem to watch most design and makeover (and even weight loss!) shows with my finger on the trigger. That is, fast forwarding to the end. The payoff. The BIG REVEAL.
The before and after. That’s my favorite part.
It’s always better after! I just love seeing the transformations and what people can conceive and create. Do you have any before and afters to submit? Please share! I’m inspired by you!
