Red Door Redo

I love a good exterior redo. This one came via Better After reader Jen, who said the neighbors liked the new look so much, one even copied the exact color scheme. Hmmm.
Imitation is the best form of flattery, I guess! Looks great, I would smile everytime I walked up to that red door. Thanks Jen!

Dramatic Fanatic

I know I probably say this like, everyday, but what a difference a coat of paint makes! It still amazes me.
Pam gave her bathroom some needed oomph by warming up the paint and adding some pops of color with new accessories. But that’s not all! If you look closely, you can see that the vanity was raised! So nice for us tall folk who don’t enjoy bending at an acute angle to wash our faces.
My favorite is the tile up on the tub, going to have to see if I can talk the hubster into that one. Check out more on her blog DIY Design Fanatic.

Long Lost Twins

There must have been a sale over at Ugly Hutch Depot.
First up, this dramatic redo from Raquel. Her blog is called The Glamorous Life, so she fixed her hutch up with a red worthy of the red carpet.
Amy chose a classic black for her hutch, but both ladies were thinking the same thing in the handle department! Maybe there was a sale there too! Check out Amy’s blog HERE.
 They look divine! Thanks ladies!

Mary’s Office

Oh how I love this room. And I wasn’t the only one. Mary’s friend Amanda let me know I needed to post this, and when someone else loves your redo enough to send it in for you, then you know it’s good, baby.
I shall let the following pictures speak for themselves, just let me say this:
#1 You can see more on Mary’s blog Quite Contrary
#2 Is it wrong to want to marry a ceiling?

Dottie

Ashley had a lovely kitchen, nice granite, great cabinets, but wait a sec … look closer … closer …is that a backsplash made with pink bathroom tile? What the? Who the? Huh?
Finally feeling fed up with the pasty pink problem, she devised a quick and easy solution. After a trip to the dollar store, a little effort and even less money, she added tons of pop to her kitchen.
I think it adds so much personality and whoulda thunk that the colors in a dollar store placemat would coordinate so much better than the “professionally” laid tile that was there in the first place? Builders, I swear!
More to see on her blog Ashley’s Rowhome.

Brick Trick

What do you do when your house is lacking a bit of character out front? When your blog is called “The Painted Home” yet your front walk remains an unpainted, boring stretch of concrete? I think you know where I’m going with this…
You paint it! Specifically, you get out some various shades of red and paint it to look like the cute little brick walkway it was always meant to be. Such a fun idea, thanks Denise!
