Wallpaper WOW

This room wasn’t so bad yo. Tall ceilings, crown moulding, cool fixtures … but there was no WOW in there. Mandi from Interior Design Musings fixed that with one of the biggest punches of WOW to the face there is: wallpaper! I would really love to wallpaper my powder room, it too is lacking in the WOW department. It’s more like HMM. Or ZZZ. Or MEH. Thanks for the inspiration Mandi!

Let it Snow

So I’m dreaming of a white Christmas. Not much of a chance of that happening here in Phoenix though. Did you know that song was actually written here in Arizona, as songwriter Irving Berlin chilled poolside at the Biltmore Hotel? Random tidbit.

Anyhoo, here are some great white redos for you inspired by snowiness, everything from fresh and simple redos to heavily distressed. Did you know I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas is also the best selling single of all time? Just thought you would like another tidbit. Ok, here we go!
Cute white tables from Holly at Holly Do. Fun swirly details were made with a dremel, which I am afraid of after poking a hole through my fingernail with one, yikes.
Gorgeous two-toned buffet from Krystal at Krystal Kreations, originally purchased for $43!
Loulou put a ton of work into this one, see the whole story on her blog Life of Lou Lou.

Freshened up and sweet, and I like how she decided to swap the weird middle knobs for two outer handles. From Jennifer at Always in Wonder.
This lovely hutch was given boost of custom color by artist Karen Hetzer, see it on her blog Karen Hetzer Artworks.

And last but not least, Kim coaxed some character and shabby chicness out of these boring befores. See it on her blog Simple Needs.
UPDATE: Ok, I have been informed that this before is completely not the same as the after. Uhhh, you might think I would have caught that, but you’d have been wrong! Apparently, I’ve been hitting the eggnog a little hard and the before is a pic of a similar-ish nightstand, according to Kim. Carry on.

Easy Peasy

Its no secret that I suffer from bland-u-litis. Too much of my house is neutral, wheaty, oatmeal, ecru, beigey boringness. But I’m slowly coming around and embracing color and contrast. This dining room from Jen at Easy Peasy Chic was slightly snoozy too. But with some new accents, not to mention the great wainscoting and ka-POW of a red wall, it is now sufficiently striking!

I also love that she sent that ficus packing. Do you still rock a droopy plastic ficus plant in the corner? It’s ok, just about everybody has done it at one point. But I think it’s finally time we collectively bid the ficus a farewell, what do you think?

And now for a few items of business:

Did you hear that I recently discovered a lot of your emails have been going into my junk folder? Ack! I’m sorry! If you sent me an email and never heard from me, please send again! I promise to be more vigilant before I purge my junk folder.

Yellow Fever

This dresser is brought to you today by the number 1. And also the numbers 2-6. And the color yellow. And the letter F, for FABULOUS!

Erin from Domestic Adventure redid this dresser as the jumping off point for what seriously might be the cutest nursery in history. No, I’m not exaggerating, it’s so cute I’m considering having another child just so I can copy it. (That’s a joke mom).

Found this one by way of Emily at Emily A. Clark.

Curb Appealing

So maybe December isn’t the best month to share an outdoor redo, because you might get all excited and run out and paint your house in sub-zero temperatures. But maybe you are reading from Australia, and in that case paint away, and also, g’day mate! Or g’night! Not sure.

Anyway, if you do get the hankering to paint your house, here’s some inspiration from Julie at Julie’s Exhausting Adventure. Night and day difference here, that’s for sure.

Trunk Space

I like this trunk in both its before and after state! But if I had to choose, I’d go with the after. I love the eye-catching white and the great number stencil, plus I guess I prefer the lightly distressed look vs. the forgotten-in-the-cargo-compartment-of-a-boat-for-far-too-long look.
