Flush Crush

Meredith’s bathroom is so pretty! OK, that’s not the most creative comment I’ve ever come up with in my life, but that’s all my brain is squirting out at the moment. My brain is too busy having a crush on her shower curtain. And also her board and batten, and vanity, and drum pendant, and paint color! Heck, even the hand towel is snazzy. Bazillion more great pics to see on her blog Welcome to Heardmont.

Glamp

Hello! It is Monday, in case you didn’t know. In case you just stumbled out of bed and are one of those people that can’t get started without a hefty dose of caffeine every morning. Well, sit up and take notice honeybuns, because this makeover was meant for you.

It’s Coke! It’s the most glamorous lamp (or maybe the only lamp) you’ve ever seen made out of plastic Coke bottles! Fourteen of them to be exact, plus a little duct tape and spray paint. If you happen to be a Coke fiend, you probably have all that stuff laying around your garage! So cool.

From Katie at Matsutake, head over there and give her a virtual high-five!

April Fool

Did you pull any fun April Fool’s jokes today? I tried. I set my husband’s alarm clock an hour ahead and then hid all of his right shoes. I thought he’d wake up early and then spend forever looking for his shoe, but what actually happened is he woke up early, noticed that it was still dark out, reset his alarm clock and went back to sleep. Then I had to tell him where I had stashed all his shoes so he wouldn’t be late for work. Then I was like …”April Fool’s!” And he was like, “Yeah. Good one.” Laaame.

So I wanted some zany projects for you for April Fool’s day, but I didn’t have any. I’m failing all around. So here are some bright, colorful, cheerful ones instead!

What’s the best prank you’ve ever pulled? I need some ideas!

Ok, here’s a colorlicious chair from Miki at All Nice Things (which is what Google Translate told me to call it, it’s in Hebrew). It was part of a total room redo as you will see below! Click on over to see the whole wall treatment that’s only peeking through in these pics.

These bright lights are brought to you today by Nikki from Nikki’s Nacs, and everybody’s BFF, spraypaint! Red chandelier can be found HERE.

Katie at Craptastic made over this boring side table with a little pink and argyle. Hmmm, Pink and Argyle…I think I just christened an Etsy shop!

Here’s another lamp ya’ll! Lamp redos are the best because they can literally be knocked out in 20 minutes. Not that I know, I’ve had two lamps waiting in my garage for a makeover for over 10 months. Rachel’s lamp is especially special, since it came from her granny. Keeping it in the family, I like it! See on her website RachelHampton.com

Katie’s chairs were sturdy and style-less. With a blog called Katie and Her Amazing Technicolor Dream Life, that just wasn’t going to cut it. But now they are ready for action! Or a fiesta! Ole!

Ellen’s galvanized tub was having an identity crisis. “What am I doing here? I feel so empty inside, like my life is one great void! What is my purpose???” Problem solved. Check it out on her blog Building our Nest.

Have a great weekend friends! Thanks as always for reading and commenting and being all around awesome!

Blind Idea

Guess what? I’m being featured today over at C.R.A.F.T. Check it out and say hi!

But before you go, take a look at this. Do you have this abomination in your home? I’m talking about vertical blinds. I do and I HAAAAAATE them. Nothing say ‘home’ quite like listening to clacking plastic all day. Did I mention I hate them? But also I’m lazy and also I’m not sure what to do about them, because ugly as they are, they are effective.

Well Shalon was also tired of watching her blinds swing to and fro, so she simply ripped the plastic panels out and used the existing clips to hang curtain panels! Slides open with ease and no longer looks like a dorm room. Fantastic and easy! Check it out on her blog Love, Shalon.

Chest Inhancement

When Patsy emailed me to tell me about her freshly made-over chest, my mind immediately went to the gutter, because I am 12 years old like that.

Then I prepared to be jealous, because hey, I wouldn’t mind a freshly made-over chest either.

THEN I saw the chest in question and was thoroughly impressed and also jealous because she got this solid wood piece for $35 and those pulls are equally as awesome and she paid $12 total for them. Truly looks like an $800 item from Pottery Barn.

See it on her blog The Train Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore. Thanks Patsy!

Kammy’s Karma

Kammy from Kammy’s Korner got this freebie little desk from a friend who was about to take it to Goodwill. She repainted it and made use of a stencil she already had, taking the grand total of this makeover to about seventeen cents. That might be an exaggeration, she didn’t give a grand total. But I bet her friend is like “… um, I just forgot … I actually need my desk back? Yeah, um … it’s a … family heirloom? Yup! Family heirloom! Give it back!”

Great job Kammy! PS: watch your back.
