Winner! And some white feet!

Random.org has decided on a Picture Keeper Winner!!! mkj, it is you!  Please contact me at BetterAfter@live.com to claim your prize!

If you didn’t win, well, that’s a bummer … but not that big of a bummer, because you can still get 10% off a Picture Keeper plus FREE SHIPPING with this code at checkout! Betterafter10
only for a limited time!

Now, let’s check out one last before and after for the day, shall we hmmm?  An old dresser gets a punch in the face, and that punch was delivered by a can of aqua paint!  I love the contrasting feet. That probably would not have ever occurred to me, but I’m going to stick it in my mental idea box.

From Kayla (and her husband, since he was the one who thought of painting the feet white! Kudos to you sir, and a Nature Valley Oats n’ Honey Granola Bar while we’re at it.)  Check it out on her blog A Jump up from Junk!

Friends don’t let friends drink and decorate.

This living room was not at all exciting. Maybe that’s what the liquor was for.
Maggie banished the booze when she moved in, and turned this into a sparkly living/dining room combo where you can see still stars and remain sober!  And waaay less likelihood of anyone ralphing on the furniture!  Check out the full transformation on her blog Mummy Maggie Chronicles.

A Nursette

This is NOT a makeover of a man and his chihuahua.

No, see that tiny space behind them?  That was formerly the dinette, the only eating space in Emily and her man’s 500 square foot home.  Did that stop them from bringing home a new baby?  Heck no!  Emily knew she had to get creative when their baby girl was born, but she didn’t want to sacrifice style either. So they found an old Thomasville bamboo hutch to refashion into a wardrobe, hung a sparkly chandelier and now eat their meals on the couch!  Emily says, “It just goes to show that space does NOT need to put limitations on starting your family!”

More to see on her blog GEORGE Interior Design. Thanks Emily!

Picture Keeper — a sweet giveaway! (now closed)

*** GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED ***

Do you have a camera?  Do you have a computer?  Do you have loved ones?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, then listen up!  You need to know about Picture Keeper!

Picture Keeper is this handy little device that you plug into your computer and boom! It seeks out and saves all of your pictures.  Just like that.  No software to download, no wires to untangle, nothing.  Even the box is easy to open!

It is by far the easiest way I’ve ever heard of to back up your photos.

If you’ve ever lost priceless pictures due to a computer meltdown, or maybe that one time when your sister forgot her memory card at your house so you were supposed to send it to her in the mail and the package mysteriously opened by itself in transit, and all she received was an empty envelope (sorry Tori!), then you know that gut wrenching feeling of losing something you can’t get back.

With Picture Keeper, that is one less worry to worry about!  I plugged mine in, double clicked the “Launch Picture Keeper” icon, and minutes later my photos were saved.  Look, here it is hard at work saving a picture of my Mia girl:

Plus, it recognizes when you add any additional pictures and will save them without duplicating any previously stored photos!

There are several amounts of memory available: PK4, PK8, PK16, and the largest PK Pro can save approximately 250,000 pictures!  Holy woah, that’s a lot of pictures.

The good people at Picture Keeper would like to give a PK4, (capable of saving 4,000 pictures) away to one lucky Better After reader!  Hooray!  You will loves it!

To enter once:  leave a comment on this post!

To enter twice: leave a comment, plus “like” Picture Keeper on Facebook! (Be sure to come back and let me know if you did!)

That’s it!  Easy peasy.  And don’t forget to leave a way for me to contact you!

If you can’t wait and want, nay, NEED a Picture Keeper right this very minute, then you can save 10% and get FREE SHIPPING with this code at checkout: Betterafter10

Woot woot! I hope you win!

Floral Girls

Are you ready to check out some fun and flirty floral furniture?  Can furniture be flirty?  You bet your britches it can.  Check out this chair from Carol Anne at Use the Good Dishes; it is positively coquettish!  Look at all of its little scrolls and scallops and curves. It’s even extra saucy with a fresh coat of paint and new upholstery. This chair is trying to put the moves on me!

I honestly never understood the purpose of nesting tables.  Under what circumstance would you say, “Ok, so what I need is a table.  But what if … underneath that table was another table?  And under that table was ANOTHER table! And both of those tables were slightly smaller in size than the original table?!  I could whip them out at my next party and impress all my guests who are probably thinking that I have only ONE table, but NO, I have THREE tables, count’em, THREE tables!  And after that I would push them back together, because they’d probably be in everyone’s way at the party.”

Well, whatever, because these tables are nothing but sweet and styling and they are totally invited to my next party, and they come from Heidi at The Painting Paint Shop.

Next, here is a settee that got de-flowered.  Oh, ew.  Not like that, you perv!  In this case, the florals were sent packing in exchange for a fresher look, hand script fabric!  So pretty. From Karryann at Gracefully Vintage.

Come Clean

Heidi’s laundry room was a little blahhh. But do you see those little pipes poking up out of the corner? They plumbed the way for a new sink! And with a sink comes a backsplash, naturally. And not just any old backsplash, one that plays off the blue/gray tones of her fabulous washer and dryer.

Am I the only person left in the world who still has the mismatched washer/dryer set that you used in college? And the handle is broken off the dryer so you use a nylon zip-tie instead? But the dang things still work like a charm, so there is really no point in buying new ones, other than to put a stop to your rampant washer envy, which seems a bit silly, and calls for a mental slap in the face, like, hey, Lindsey, wake up and dream a little bigger than a new washer and dryer set, ok?

Ok. I feel better. See more on Heidi’s blog Glam in a Can. (And she has also figured out the Citra-Solv/laser printer thing!)
