I recently read a thought provoking quote that said something about how the bathroom is the most private room in a home, and yet the most public. Ok, so it wasn’t a thought-provoking quote as much as a line in the new Ikea catalog, but it’s still true. No one ever ‘needs’ to use the kitchen, youknowwhatI’msayin? So with one small room taking care of so many, it should receive a little extra attention, I think.
Jilly thought so too, and spent the last who-knows-how-long transforming this bathroom in her home. She is a rockstar and pretty much did all the work herself, including tiling that shower that seemed like it might be the death of her for a while. But she conquered it (I never doubted she would) and wow, was it ever worth it!
GORGEOUS, right?
She is hugely creative and found tons of money-saving ways to keep this thing low budget, even though it looks anything but. For instance, she had the original mirror cut down into three pieces to make the new mirrors. The light fixtures look like they came from Pottery Barn, but were actually bought from a restaurant going out of business.
You’ll have to head over to her blog to see all the details, including the $1,500 toilet that she discovered in a pile of toilets that had escaped a warehouse fire. I think that is my very favorite part of this whole story. Oh! I also love this barn door and artwork that she created too. So perfect. Much more to see on her blog Jilly & Mia.
