If you’ve been looking for a meeting place for your Super Sad People Who Are Sad Club, I’ve got the spot for you. This before dining room. I don’t think happiness could exist in such an overwhelming realm of burgundy and brown.
But all that changed once Emily got on the scene. Now it’s electric, bright, and happpppyyyyy! So tell your club to keep looking. You’ve joined a new one. Meetings start at eight in Emily’s dining room; I hear there’s pie.
See all the details at I Dream of Style.
PS: Who can tell me the name of that plant? I think I need one.

October 24, 2014 at 10:07 AMWow! What a transformation! I definitely want to be a part of that meeting in that room with the pie! Count me in!

October 24, 2014 at 11:02 AMYup, what Judith said; a rubber plant, which is actually a tree. If you plant it in your garden (Assuming you live in a country that doesn’t get too cold or where it snows or even gets too much heavy frost, it grows huge! It also needs to be planted WELL away from buildings, or the roots will cause havoc. 🙂

October 24, 2014 at 11:09 AMThat blue is so beautiful, so bold .. so BRAVE! Love it! I don’t know that I’d ever have the guts to do something like that. But then I’ve never owned a home or had the opportunity to actually pick paint colors. Someday .. someday.

October 24, 2014 at 1:56 PMNot sure if you know this, but when I try accessing your blog via mobile an ad covers the entire right side and I can’t get it to move. I would love if you could fix that. 🙂
Thanks!

October 24, 2014 at 2:09 PMThe before picture reminds me of an old Casino or a scene from an old movie or its like an elite poker club. (Or a really creepy one!)

October 24, 2014 at 2:24 PMThanks so much for the feature, Lindsey. Yes, it is a Rubber Tree… and you can have it if you can drive to STL for it, ha! It is slowly losing its leaves because we don’t have a great spot for it 🙁 Have a great weekend!

October 24, 2014 at 7:27 PMLindsay, I just love your blog. I love this room and you always make me laugh. And I’ve been thinking about you and wondering about those eyeballs of yours. Is everything great again? Was the surgery a fabulous success? Don’t leave us hanging here… 🙂

October 25, 2014 at 7:09 AMI was going to tell you what the tree was but it looks like you’ve got it covered. We had one of those in a backyard planter when I was a kid and it would grow huge. We also had a pet turtle that lived in that planter and he would eat the leaves. Love the room now, the old room would have gone with my old bathroom. haha

High Hopes, Frank Sinatra. He sings it much better than most ever could. Here’s a youtube link, if you’re curious:
