Chair Repair is in the Air!

Tanya found this crusty chair sitting on the curb on her way to a Weezer concert and had her husband stuff it in the trunk against his will.  Everything about that previous sentence foretells that Tanya and I shall be the best of friends if we ever meet in real life.  She knew there were more years left in it yet, and took it to be reupholstered in a bold teal velvet.  Best part?  It matches her hair!  See for yourself at Dans le Townhouse.

And here’s another sad chair taken in from the cold. Lisa saw potential here, somehow looking past the part where it resembled a deflated scab. She nixed the tufting and let the fun floral fabric do the talking and it’s so joyful that I want to give it a hug!  See more on her blog Sweet Parsley Home.

Chairy Styles just had her first post. 😀

And yes, I went and look at her hair…So cute! Wish I was so bold. The chair rocks amazing! My hubby would have thought I’d lost my mind and said, No way.

The second chair is WOW! Beautiful fabric.

Beautiful!!! Love that first chair. Only thought is I wonder why she painted the legs black? I think the original wood/stain would have looked wonderful with the teal, especially with the armrests.

Oh wow, I love these, especially the second one. So inspiring! I’ve got to redo the rocking chair in my bedroom sometime soon. These make me more impatient to start. 😀

Thanks Lindsey for featuring my little garbage chair, and thanks to everyone for their kind comments!

Amanda: the legs have been stained a dark walnut, but they photographed really matte black. The teal shows up very denim blue with my regular camera, so I used my camera phone which better captures the colour (still more luxe in real life) but then deadens other things, like wood tones. I love the chair, but it refuses to be shared with the world, lol.

Thank you, Lindsey, for including our chair! (Your descriptions are hilarious, as always!) And thank you to the readers for the sweet words.

Tanya, that is simply sensational!! Beautifully done! I know exactly what you mean about some just not wanting to be captured on camera.

Lindsey, you crack me up! A deflated scab…bahahahaha! Noone has a blog quite like yours. Your humor kills me. When rooms give you the “sadsies”…you’re hilarious! Thanks for the laughs and the great before/afters.
