Depp Conditioning

Since I’ve got babies on the brain (and one literally on my bladder), I loved this nursery makeover from Ashley at The Houston House.  It’s for her little girl, but definitely neutral enough for a boy too.

Besides, I’ve always said that nurseries are more for the mom than the baby anyway.  The baby doesn’t care if you hang black and white posters of Johnny Depp in there.  Actually, black and white images are good for baby brain development.  So just think about that.

I love the arrangement of frames on that wall, and the sconces over the changing table too!  Check out her blog for all the sweet little details of this cozy room.

And just in case you are … you know, considering my earlier artwork suggestion, here is my favorite:

jony

Perfect for any child’s room!  Unless your child is afraid of vampires.  Because how else can this man be 50 years old?  No, really.

A great nursery makeover and she was lucky enough to be able to work from scratch :)! We want pictures of your Johnny Depp nursery lol.

I love that the frames are cream colored instead of pure white… such a subtle difference that makes that corner a little cozier!

Haha. Besides this room being so beautiful, the thing I like about is the function. I’ve seen so many “nursery designs” where they’ll put an old wooden farm chair in there, or a cute book shelf that holds four books in a place the baby can’t reach. When the baby is crying at 4 am that is definitely a chair I could cozy up and rock in.

One of my girlfriends bought me a cardboard cut out of Jack Sparrow and placed it in my bed while I was out of town. My husband did not find it nearly as funny as I did. I do like your suggestion though. . . 🙂

Oh, man! That is BEAUTIFUL, Ashley! How tranquil! How calming! How wonderful! And Lindsey, a little Depp in my day always makes for a better experience! Thanks for the shot of Johnny! Oh! And I hope that you’ll always find yourself close to a bathroom! My husband and I still chuckle about the bathroom tour that we took on a trip to Mesa, AZ during Thanksgiving in 1982 when I was 6 months pregnant. We saw lots of interesting places that we wouldn’t have seen otherwise!

Sighhhh, Johnny Depp is SUCH good eye candy!

And yeah, the nursery is cute too…. pales in comparison but ya know, much more socially acceptable. 😉

Well you know, we’re always ‘practicing’ and hoping for a surprise. But that’s unlikely in our situation… so we’re saving our pennies and hoping to put the other two embryos in next spring! 🙂

Lindsey, you are the funniest thing! I really enjoy your commentaries as much as the makeovers. Thanks for the laughs. I wish you the best of luck on this new human being coming to your life soon.

@Beth I just want to tell you how much I love your site and my prayers go towards you and your family. I am aware of the trials you have gone through and you are a sheer inspiration. To WANT SOMETHING SO BAD, for it to be your BIG dream and to be essentially not able to reach it. Then you and your husband combined forces to fight for that dream, it brings tears to me. I am glad the first time was successful and we your readers look forward to a second set :)!

Haha! I would decorate MY room with black and white Johnny Depp posters if my husband didn’t mind. Why didn’t I come up with the nursery idea and the reasoning that, “it’s good for the baby’s development.”? Genius.
