Closed-in for the win!

It seems like backwards logic, but sometimes closing in a room actually makes it seem bigger.  Don’t believe me?  Well then, hmmph!  I’m offended!  I would never lie to you!

If you won’t take my word for it, take Jennifer’s.  She felt that this ‘open concept’ living room needed to be more defined.  It’s not easy to place furniture in a small room with few available walls.  So she added a french door divider to separate the living room from the kitchen, while still allowing for airiness and light.  Getting rid of those poo-colored walls probably helped in that department too; I think we can all agree on that.

Take the whole tour of this redo on her blog Jennifer Rizzo.

  1. Just beautiful!!

  2. Yes, I really think just changing out the color on the walls would have made a huge difference, but who doesn’t love french doors?

  3. I love the room and the trunk table!

  4. Gorgeous! I love the french doors for sure, but I think the color change is what really made the room here.

  5. Dramatic transformation. Looks like the opening is bigger too but that could be the white paint. Very nice.

  6. LOVE those glass doors! Such a great alternative to a solid wall.
