Play It Again, Kam!

Turn away now if you are highly offended by painted pianos. Or if you are a huge fan of splintered bums.  Because not only did Kammy fearlessly paint her piano a delicious shade of dusty turquoise, she also fixed up the accompanying bench from serious-seat-splinter-er to subway-art-inspired-bench-of-beauty.  Get a closer look, and see if you can spot the word she accidentally stenciled on twice on her blog Kammy’s Korner.

I don’t think it was accidental … perhaps she just wanted everyone to know how important ‘tempo’ is! LOL

I think it’s beautiful! Granted, my family had a piano when I was growing up that had been *upholstered* in 1970’s gold-and-black plaid to hide cracks in the wood from when it had fallen out of a moving truck. This is much prettier. 🙂

Do I get a prize for the word that is misspelled? It is “sol” not “so”. Looks like there is space to add an “l” though! Also a personal pet peeve of mine is when people don’t “fill in” the lines left that were used to hold the stencil together. Those little paper lines are supposed to be covered up because it is assumed that people can connect the letter once the stencil is removed. It always gives me a “strobe light” effect when I’m trying to read the words with all of those empty spaces. Otherwise, it is the best turquoise re-do I’ve seen in a while. Much better “after”.

Well, I guess it depends on who taught you your “solfege”. I was taught “sol”, but I guess “so” actually is correct in some countries. 🙂 Still, the color is beautiful!

This is so much better! I brought the piano and bench out of the piano store showroom and into a real household! Perfect!

I’m a piano teacher and I think if my students had a piano like this they would practice all the time!! It’s really well done…that color is calming and so appropriate. I love it. Love.
