Hitting a Wallpaper

Friends, I think I’ve lost my mojo.  Summertime has sucked me dry. My pal Brooke said it best today, “Summertime comes around and I feel like I’m breathing with one lung, trying to keep up with it all.” Amen, sister.  I don’t really have a point in telling you this, other than to hear myself whine for a minute, but if you feel like sending a virtual high-five of encouragement my way, I could use it!

And while we’re at it, let’s virtual high-five, fist-bump, hip-shimmy with Cheryl and her beautiful dresser makeover.  It had some water damage and a few scuffs and scratches to begin with, but the big issue was that this was going in her two-year-old daughter’s room.  Does this look like the type of furniture that would excite a two-year-old girl?  Maybe if she enjoys cigars and playing poker with the boys, but that’s unlikely. It’s a bit masculine, is what I’m saying.  Cheryl girlified it just enough with a paint treatment meant to look like vintage wallpaper, and it turned out so, so beautifully!  Check it out on her blog It’s Two AM.

I absolutely LOATHE summer, Lindsey. The sooner it is over, the better. I live in Australia but even when I lived in England for 2 years I hated summer.
However, I LOVE this bureau makeover! It is sublime… I wonder how long it took to select exactly the right shade of green?

I just don’t clean the house or bathe until the end of summer. Just kidding. Sort of.

LOVE two tone furniture. This is beautiful.

I LOVE two toned furniture. I love using a variety of stains and paint on one piece of furniture. I just love this dresser. It’s so adorable and I’m a die hard for any shade of green! Love it!

I love that she kept the beautiful wavy wood grain on the front, the rest of it wasn’t anything special until she painted it. Now it is ALL gorgeous!

You think you got it tough, sister? Oh, well you DO but hey, it’s bloody cold in my neck of the woods AND I ain’t go no heater! Only the cat.No, I did not set him on fire to warm my tootsies. He just attacks the dog regularly and sends sparks my way. Quite a good set up actually. Now if I could teach the cat and dog to fix the heater which is not working for past 3 months then all will would be well.
SO get the spray bottle out, baby, squirt some coolin’ fresh iced water all over your bod and show me the do-overs! Bet that just made you wanna slap me, hey! 😉
Chilly billy loves from the mad Aussie!
PS My cat says, ‘Hi, show me some kitty kat makeover pads and I’ll stop clawing my owner. Thanks, love, Oscar’

Is the love button broken? Oh geez that doesn’t sound the way I meant it to. What I’m saying is, how are there any “hmmm” or “like” it votes on this beautiful dresser? It has the best of both worlds:the beautiful paint with pattern, and the gorgoues wood grain! By far, this is one of my favorite transformations I have seen featured here. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
