I love that Rebekah’s son Greg chose emerald green as the main color of his room makeover, because it really shows off the handmade afghan that had been in their family for ages.  Somewhere Granny is rejoicing, I promise.  My grandma used to tell me the story of a friend of hers who was busy knitting an afghan once, when one of her grown sons came in and started admiring it.  “Gee, ma, this is really great.  I think I’d like to have one of these blankets too!” he said, to which she replied, “I already made you one, son. It’s been in your doghouse for years.” Bwoops.  I bet that guy felt like a jerk.

Anyway, I really like how she incorporated the stripes on the wall too.  Here’s a secret: the white stripes are duct tape! That dinosaur decal is also a pile of radness. Lots more on her blog It Only Gets Better.

This room is awesome for two reasons. First, I am a paleontologist and I want to steal this dinosaur awesomeness. Second, it just got cold enough where I live for me to start snuggling underneath the afghan that my grandmother gave to me in 1982. That thing has kept me cozy for 75% of my life. Great job!!!
