Embroidery Hoop Orbs

Embroidery Hoop Orbs
I first saw these spheres on Pinterest from Hill Country Homebody and loved them.  I got so excited when I learned they were made with nothing more than embroidery hoops, thumbtacks and stain, because I HAVE all those things!  Let’s do this!

So easy.  Take two hoops of the same size.  Take them apart, so you have a total of four hoops. Stain. (I used Kona by Rustoleum first, then Sunbleached over that to lighten it up. These are my faaaaaaaavorite stain colors.)

I liked how the bits of hardware from the hoops gave it an industrial feel, and I rubbed the stain all over them for an aged look too.
Ok, now you just put the hoops back together, and keep in place with the thumbtacks!  The wood is light enough to pin through, you don’t need any glue or nothin’! You can stain over the thumbtacks too.

I use them to clean the rubber edges of my flat top stove- just rub them around the edge and the grease and crumbs come right up!

I have a horrible tenancy to blink right after I put on mascara. But a slightly damp q-tip is the best to clean those black dots off my cheeks!

I use them to get gross stuff out of small spaces 😉 My husband’s addicted to cleaning his ears. I think he’s flip out over these.

Smallest paintbrush, cute! I actually keep Q-tips in my DIY apothecary jar in the bathroom…after I put my makeup on I wet the tip and wipe up the mess I’ve made. Works like a charm!!

Oh by the way, I had to see an ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist) a year ago and both the nurse and doc commented on how clean my ears were. They couldn’t believe it.

I told them that all I do is dip a Q-tip in a little baby oil and clean the outer parts of my ears. I try to do this a couple times a week. However, I don’t do it daily because we do need ear wax.
