Rub a Tub

 Jan 30, 2012

Kammy's tub was pretty cool, if only because it was a claw-foot tub.  Everyone knows claw-foot tubs are simply cooler than any other tub, except maybe those walk-in tubs for seniors, which, don't lie, you've always wanted to try too.  Anyway, this tub was skating by on it's coolness factor alone, because in reality, it was kind of freaky. Kammy didn't realize just how bad it was until the children of her out-of-town-guests shed actual tears at bath time because they didn't want to get inside the "scary tub."

But hold on to your hats, because a mere $25 worth of Rustoleum Countertop Paint later, and it's the official opposite-of-scary.  Add the black and white stencil, and it's entered a whole 'nother stratosphere of cool.  Check it out on her blog Kammy's Korner!

I bet her bum is so relieved to sit down on a shiny surface.

Fantastic re-do! Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I have been looking for a way to rennovate my tub for so long and now here is the answer! Couldn't have done it without you. Well, I haven't done it yet, but I will! :)

Kammie, in a year, I want an update. I painted my tub with the real tub stuff. It was a pain and I am not that happy with it. So, if yours is still nice in a year, I am doing it again. Your way is a whole lot easier.

Just gorgeous!!! BTW: Those senior tubs... I keep thinking those poor people must have to sit there and freeze while they wait for the tub to completely drain before they can open that little side door and get back out. Just something to think about.

I love those tubs, sometime so glamourous and just fun. I didn't know they even made paint to tubs!
