Born in a Barn

Born in a Barn
Do you have some crappy cabinetry stinking up the joint in your house?  Whitney did, as seen by this fading and distressed bathroom vanity below.  Completely uninspiring, unless you count the fact that it inspired serious change.  So she settled on the rustic barn-wood look she had been lusting over, complete with a deep stain and new doors built with cedar fencing from Home Depot of all things!
She says, “If sitting and staring at it for hours didn’t involve me on the floor of the bathroom, I’d be here all day.”  I’d call that a success!  See the whole process on her blog The Rooster and The Hen.

We had the exact same cabinetry in our old house; we had painted it a dark blue and distressed it- what a huge difference it made! It Laos had stained white laminate which we had replaced with a darker laminate that looked a. It like granite…
This looks great! I love the stone counter!
