Janet's kitchen table was covered in battle scars: scratches, cup rings, burn marks and petrified cheerios. But even after decades of servitude, it still had a lot of life left! All it needed was a serious sanding and a fresh coat of paint. I shudder to imagine how non-fun painting those intricate chairs must have been. Kudos to you Janet! Wow, she really did make it work! Like those chairs
That last table is literally identical to the one we just sold and got rid of. My plan was to sand it and paint it black, but just before I took my sandpaper to it, I had a change of heart and felt positive I would not be able to pull off this job! So we sold it, saved up a bit more, and just yesterday bought a nice black set. Yay!
I never would be bold enough to paint a kitchen table red, but I sure like looking at it in someone else's house!
We bought our dining room table and chairs sort of on a whim many years ago. The finish just never was quite right, although the pieces were replaced twice. I made such a big deal about the set back then, I can't even imagine convincing the Big Guy that we should paint it and re-do the chairs. But I sure would love to banish the "almost, but not quite green" table, chairs and buffet!!!
Maybe I could just "accidentally" spill paint, or better yet, paint REMOVER on them. Now there is something to consider....
That last table is gorgeous! And I LOOVE the chairs too! Oh and by the way, the "Shabby2Chic" blog link you posted actually takes you to "I heart my glue gun" again. hehe, just thought you'd want to know :)
Thanks for letting me know Jessica! I'm a spaz sometimes. Or all the time.
Love the lamp + chair + food mats!!! They make the table look marvelous .. or the table make them look incredible...???
Both look amazing!
