In a Raj

Don't freak out that Emily gave this classical French style sofa an Indian inspired makeover. Marie Antoinette is not spinning in her grave. Emily was inspired by the scene in A Little Princess when Sara's little attic room has been transformed with Indian decor, and named this sofa "The Raj," which refers to a time when India was under British colonial rule between 1858-1947. The British began sending Indian decor items back home.
