Sheer Poetry

Stripes, gray and white stripes,
I love you so much,
I wrote this haiku for you.
That haiku was lame,
I will try again. oh crap. out of syllables.

Uh-oh, I smell another impromptu haiku contest! Best haiku left in the comments will be chosen by a panel of judges (my mom) and will receive something random in the mail from me!

Your Haiku made me laugh! LOVE the dresser. It's amazing!

Seriously... April 20, 2011 at 8:44 AM

Stripes like river waves
Flowing toward the wooded floor
Let it flow? Damn it.

Stripes bring a tickle
Needling through itching nose
Ah, ah ah HAIKU!

I found you sadly
sitting in a damp garage.
Now you are stripey.

stripes cascading down
glistening through the soft clouds
stripes make me happy

Shannon April 20, 2011 at 9:15 AM

Drank too much rum drink.
I'm paying for it today
cause stripes made me sick.

Gina Longoria April 20, 2011 at 9:23 AM

Rippled, white and gray
no longer sullen choc'late
Modern is the word!

An ugly old thing,
turned beautiful by only
loving hands and paint.

Horizontal stripes?
No! You can't make me conform.
Take that stripe law rules!

At first I was brown
Then me and the chair got stripes
Now we're the shiz-nit!

Laurel April 20, 2011 at 12:23 PM

Are you serious?
I totally want something!
Please send it to me!

I'd write a haiku,
but my four kids are screaming.
You know how it is.

This sounds better if you imagine a gong sound after the second line...

A dresser speaks of
white ripples in grey water
put away your laundry

Beautiful dresser! I love the MCM lines of it and the paint job is perfect.

If only I had the FAINTEST clue how to write a haiku.

OH, but I did rhyme. Does that count for something? Of course it does.

Cool dresser.

Stripes brought first love
Then with horror,
"Does this make me look fat?"

I really love this dresser and winning things is fun!

I am so confused
Are they stripes or big chevrons?
It makes my head hurt

Mother in law in my home.
Am losing my mind.

The Grandy's April 20, 2011 at 8:43 PM

I googled Haiku
Now I am educated
I can't stop doing it

So all the day long
I sit and wait for new posts
Thinking of Haikus

Now Easter is here
I wish for pastel redo's
Maybe you'll grant it.

Kill me now.

You used to be dull
Now, you're totally awesome!
Love you, grey/white thing

DrMom April 21, 2011 at 9:16 AM

Optic Illusion
Are you really there or not?
Maybe the floor slants.

Kari --- April 21, 2011 at 1:53 PM

Chevrons are awesome
Even when they are subtle
They make me happy

You know something else?
Better After makes me cry
With big tears of joy

Each morning I wake
Make a giant cup of joe
And check the transformations

Then I get inspired
And out come the paint supplies
Hubby gets nervous

He likes when I'm done
And admits it is awesome
I win. Yes. I win.

LOL.
