Norwhat?

From time to time I will get a submission from someone far far away, in this case, Norway. Since my Norwegian is a little rusty (or nonexistent), I rely on the help of Google Translate in these situations. Google Translate is about 65% accurate and 100% hilarious.

For instance, it reports that Heidi and Trudy wrote this about their tables: “It can be quite attractive to a total break to get some tension in the interior which at times can be “overdose” of the same style. Then such småmøbler quite superb.”

Hmm. I think … I’m not sure what that’s about. I need a Google Translate Translator.

Anyhoo, these little nesting tables are quite superb. A lot of detail work and love went into them. You can see many more projects over on their blog The Painting Paint Shop, (at least, that’s what Google Translate told me to call it.)

  9. Very cute! And I know what you mean aboutthe google translator..
My home language is Afrikaans, and I have tried translating my Afrikaans blog into nglish, and it sounded a bit like your translated piece…

  10. Lovely tables, thank you for letting me find their very inspirational blog.
And their description goes something like this:
” These would look really great against white interior, just to create a little excitement where it otherwise could be an “overdose” of the same style.
Small furniture like this is great that way.”

Wishing you a great weekend! Susanne (from Norway)

  13. Hysterical translation! I use Google Translator to read my husband’s aunt’s blog in Norwegian all the time because he got tired of translating for me…If I ever learn the language I hope I can put together a sentence more coherently than Translator does!

    Love those tables…
