Fanny Fan

Much like Better After reader Sole, I too have lusted after lovely aged-bronze antique fans like you see for sale at Pottery Barn and the like. But fifty plus bones for a fan? That's not cool. (pun!) So, for the price of a can of oil-rubbed-bronze spray paint, she now has the next best thing.
Add this to the ever-growing list, "I didn't know I could paint THAT!" Looks great, thanks Sole!

Wow! It looks COMEPLETELY differnt! And better.
I have the "real" thing and you're right -- it was pricey. I think I'll do this version for the patio!
Thanks for the idea.
Fabulous! I had no idea it could look that good!
That looks great!! I'll definitely have to try it - what brand of spray paint did you use?
I'm breaking out the spray paint as we speak!
I love it!

Wow--I'm totally blown away!
I do love me some oil rubbed bronze spray paint. What a great idea. I need a fan and didn't want to shell out mega bucks for one.
Love the new look! We actually found an 'old' looking fan at Grossman's discount for $35. I'll try to find a photo.
So now I'm off to gather up all my ugly fans. LOVE the idea!
Wow!
I'm Sole. Thanks for all the kind words! A.S.A.P- I used Rustoleum (Oil-rubbed bronze to be exact). It's my favorite!
