Diane’s Kitchen

For a while there, honey colored cabinetry was ALL THE RAGE. Or maybe it wasn’t, but that’s what all the builders across America seemed to think. Now the rage is painting those cabinets white. Will we someday look back on this as a crazy trend? I don’t think so. White is as classic as anything can be. It’s not like everyone is painting in harvest gold or avocado, right? So go ahead and roll up your sleeves, and tell your husband it’s a good investment!
This classic kitchen makeover comes from Diane at The Perfectly Imperfect Life. I love how she dropped down that extra high island counter, which could only be used as an eating surface when NBA players stopped by for a snack before. Now it’s built for regularly sized people and uses the space so much better. Thanks Diane!

  1. this kitchen is great! it is my dream to do this to my dark (expensive) cabinets…

  2. I LOVE white kitchen cabinets!! My husband acts like the honey oak cabinets we have are his precious first born. He gets extremely irritated when I mention painting them. “Are you calling OUR cabinets ugly?!?!” “Why, yes I am.” :)

  3. Yup ~ I’m looking to do this to my oak cabinets, too. Maybe with a little glaze over the white, too.

  4. Ok, this post just gave me goosebumps because I’ve been dreaming up some kitchen ideas in my mind and I was thinking that I wanted that light blue color – but now I want to repaint the cupboards white after seeing this. {showing my husband/painter your post now…} **keeping fingers crossed**
