Holy Smokes. These were quite possibly the ugliest lamps in the history of ever. If there was an “Ugly Lamp Contest” these lamps would take first and second place.
Hey! Wouldn’t it be fun to have an “Ugly Lamp Contest?” I think I’m going to do just that. What do you think?
Anyhoo diddly do, check out how Elizabeth redeemed these lamps from groovy-in-a-gross-way into chic outdoor decor on her blog The Hymas Herd. Thanks Elizabeth!

Now THAT is what I call a Better After. Seriously, the before was hideous! But they are officially redeemed!

    A really nice redo!

I like to think I can see potential but I am not sure I could have ever imagined those lamps being saved. Great “after”!

They would win an “ugly” contest period, even against my 7th grade Math teacher. And that’s saying something.

  5. May 26, 2010 / 5:28 PM

Wow! Now that is an amazing transformation! Never would have thought of using them that way, but I love it!

Those are so nice now that I am going to keep my eye out for hideously ugly lamps so I can do something similar. Great job!

Thank you, girls! They were fun to create!

Wow! Such an outside-the-box redo. I like the idea of an ugly lamp contest – I’m sure I can find some doozies in Atlanta (as well as in storage from by boyfriend’s old apartment)!

Really, really the ugliest lamp ever. But . . . WOW!!! What a creative transformation. I never would have thought to do that. Thanks for the great idea!

    Fantastic! The before was terrible!
