What would you do if you found yourself renting a home with a giant, gaudy Venetian mural slapping you in the face every time you walked in the front door?
Vicky from The City Cradle had this exact predicament: her landlord stated explicitly that no matter what, the mural stays. So she got creative and painted boards to place over the mural, giving her the more streamlined, mural-free look she desired, and keeping the landlord happy at the same time! It looks great. Even though she is renting I hope she will be staying for awhile to enjoy the fruits of her creative labor.

You'd think the landlord would jump at the chance to have someone fix that heinous mess. What a smart idea to use the boards. So creative!
