Chocolate Pie
Jan 11, 2010
Painting furniture is all the rage these days, but sometimes nothing compares to good old fashioned wood. This here is a pie safe that was Ashley's grandmother's.
She switched it around a bit to match her style. I don't know that that faded, busted down green color was matching anyone's style, unless they worked for the Forest Service or something. (Like MY grandma did! Hi Grandma! Oh, who am I kidding, I'm quite positive my grandma does not read this).
I love how she used green on the inside, not only does it complement the deep brown nicely, it's a reminder of the pie safe's past. Thanks Ashley!

You are too funny! Love the makeover and I also like that she gave a little nod to the past with the green. Looks fab.
Great painting job...looks fabulous!!
Oh I love it and the wood looks just gorgeous. So glad they saved it. Hugs, Marty
great job on restoring the color, yet saving the flair with the green!
I love it! Your whole blog is great! I have to come by here more often! :)
I love that makeover. Great decision to keep the green inside, that really adds punch. It's a beautiful cabinet.
Awesome! You need to give your mother in law lessons!
