Slipper Chair

 Sep 15, 2009

Here's another project where you can't believe the after is even distantly related to the before. Janell from Isabella and Max Rooms won these slipper chairs at an auction and had them professionally recovered. Sounds easy, but was actually quite a process. I love the velvet with the zebra pillow!

PS: Did you know they are called slipper chairs because they are low to the ground and were used by ladies as a handy place to put on their slippers in days of yore? At least, that's what an old guy told me at a flea market once, so I'm going with it.

Gorgeous! I MUST learn to reupholster. It looks very difficult though.

This chair is so very classic.

Beautiful! I never knew they were called slipper chairs. I just like them because I'm short, and my feet can touch the floor while I sit in them. ;)

Wow that is absolutely stunning. The pillow is great, but I just love the color of the new chair fabric!
